Overview

We are seeking reliable, fun loving, energetic and open minded staff committed to working with youth for an incredible summer camp program. We are seeking those who are available for as much, if not all, of the camp season and training dates as possible. 

 

Camp Seewackamano is an outdoor, wooded area/ terrain location: Shokan, NY 12481.

 

Camp Seewackamano runs 6/30/25-8/29/25. Mandatory training dates TBD June 2025.  The leadership teams will meet and have additional planning hours prior to the determined all-staff training dates.  

 

Seewackamano Leadership positions are as follows: 

Camp Director

Assistant Camp Director

Health Director/Office Manager: Qualifications and certifications include: Physician or Nurse Practitioner or RN or LPN or EMT, First Aid, CPR, RTE

Village Director 

High & Low Ropes Director 

Program Director 

Waterfront Director: Qualifications include: must be 21 years old, PSI or WSI, Lifeguard Management, Lifeguarding with Waterfront, CPR, and First Aid

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Camp Director and Youth Development Director in the overall leadership of camp operations. 
  • Sets the tone and provides guidance to assigned staff team.
  •  Plans and implements program activities that is culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values. 
  •  Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. 
  •  Attends staff meetings and training. 
  •  Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies. 
  •  Maintains open communication with camper guardians. 
  •  Maintains positive relations with families and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. 
  •  Works with Camp Director and Youth Development Director to implement appropriate staff and camper management plans. 

Qualifications

  • Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.

Posted Salary Range
